Pretty in Blue

All stamps and cardstock are from Stampin'Up. Stamp is from the Dreams du Jour set.

Last day of the week

Well, Blogger finally corrected the problem of turning my pictures sideways. It was so frustrating. I haven't blogged since. I've been making cards all week and I also painted 6 ornaments. I also made 5 ATCs for a swap I'll be joining. Now I'm off to the hairdresser.

Wednesday morning

Another cold day in Ontario. Snow is piling up and the temperatures are dropping. Where oh where is spring? I've had enough of winter now.
I'm having trouble loading my pictures on here now. For some reason they are uploading sideways. They are fine in my files. Computers and I don't get along very well. They always seem to know what buttons to push to make me mad. Everything was going just fine until yesterday. I was able to load the book fine and then the next two cards were sideways. ARgh! I will show you the cards I made yesterday as soon as I can figure out what's going wrong.
I have a friend coming over to paint this morning. Maybe I will finish the ornaments I've started. I made a few more cards last night as well. Hope you are all keeping warm. Oh...I need a holiday in the south somewhere.

Tuesday's Creations

Today was a day was a beautiful sunny wintery day. I love days like this. Makes you think spring. So today, I did some cards that with flowers.

The last section. I've never made this book yet, but I have several samples now to 'thief'. This is definitely my favourite. Thanks Sandi for taking the gloom out of Mondays.

This is the next section. Isn't it beautiful?

Here is the first section. This book is all folded into a book.

Monday's special gift

Here is the beautiful Valentine's Day Book from Sandi McIlvried in Ontario. You will see how she spoiled me with this lovely book. The next few pics will try to show how it lays out. It is full of interesting embellishments and words. Thanks so much Sandi. It's a true work of art...Art from the Heart!

Another Cold day in Ontario

Since we have had snow since November, it's making for a long winter so far. Looking forward to spring now, but on the good side, January is half over. The days are getting longer which helps. One good thing about winters in Ontario, is that there are sunny days. I am one who can't live without sun. I don't like the heat of summer, I am definitely a sunny winter girl. I'm one of those Canadian Geese that doesn't bother going south. I'm too old for skiing or playing in the snow, but some sunny days, I'm tempted to just go out there and make snow angels. Now that breakfast is over, I guess it's time to go do something worthwhile. Should I finish washing all the glassware from my hutches or go varnish my ornaments. Oh! Decisions...decisions.

Wednesday's Cards

Here are my cards for today. All stamps are by Stampin'Up. Cardstock is SU and the printed paper is unknown.

A couple of favourite tools.

I just love my new Big Shot especially for bigger die cuts. I still keep my Cuttlebug close by for embossing and small jobs that I have still have room for on my table.

What happened to Tuesday?

The day I posted my slider card, I didn't show you the inside. It was fun to make. Anyway, whatever happened to Tuesday or even Monday. Days are going so quickly and I haven't been in the mood to do anything other than read. I love mysteries. I just read one from an author I haven't read before. Her name is Marcia Talley. The book was called "In Death's Shadow". The books I've read since the beginning of December are "A christmas to Remember" by Thomas Kinkade; "To The Hilt" and "Reflex" by Dick Francis; "Mrs. Jeffries & the Feast of St. Stephen" by Emily Brightwell; "Small Town Christmas" by Debbie Macomber; "Red Hot Murder" by Joanne Pence; "September Mourn" by Mary Daheim; "Goodbye Sweetheart" by Lilian Harry; "Someday Soon" by Debbie Macomber; "Sugar Cane Murder" by Joanne Fluke; and "The Parting" by Beverly Lewis. Today, however I think I will do something other than read. Oh gosh, I have to wash all the dishes to put back into the hutch. Another job I hate.

Great day in the neighbourhood

Well, I had a great weekend. DH pulled up all the carpet in the living room and dining room. We are laying hardwood down this week. Looking forward to getting the rooms back to normal. It felt like I was moving all over again. Two buffets to pack up in boxes and sitting in my kitchen. I guess while they are out, I might as well wash them before putting them back.
I didn't do any cards over the weekend. I sat most of the day drooling over my new Stampin' Up catalogue. So if you are looking for a new stamp set, beautiful paper and great dies, give me a call. I love the dies. I alternate between the Big Shot and the Cuttlebug.

Lady #1

This is a new stamp of a fashionable lady from Rubbernecker. Inside the card it says.."When I get tired of shopping, I just sit down and try on shoes".

Snowman Ornament

My 3 newest ornaments

Valentine's Day slider card

Now this was my first time doing a slider card. Used my Scor-pal to score the folds. All stamps are by Stampin'Up. Used Spellbinder Nestabilities for the scalloped circles.

Moose card

Made a little moose card for you know who!

This is Dingle's paper bag book. You use 3-4 small lunch bags, folden in half and tied in the middle to create a book. Then embellish as desired. These are fun to do and give as gifts.

Bag Book inside pages

Dingle's Bag Book

Christmas card from Lynda L.

Now here is the right card for Lynda L. Isn't it cute? I love the embossed background. Don't you just love Cuttlebug? I don't know where the stamp is from, but it's awfully cute. Thanks Lynda.

Mistakes

I'm sorry but the card I posted of the snowman is not by Lynda L. It is by Elaine Smith. Gee how can I make that mistable? It is so cute. Even the scarf is painted and cut out and layered on the snowman. I just love it. I'm still trying to get my photo program working so I can add more cards I'm working on. I will post all the cards I got at Christmas to show you want a lovely job Brush Bunch did in the exchange.

Testing...1...2...3

I'm still playing around with this. Everyone in the world is helping. Let's see how this works.
I've added a Santa that I received from Dingle. It's her famous Kringle Beaded Santa done with paper, beads and paint. Isn't cute?

Tuesday musings

I got up a little earlier today. Time to regroup and start off the new year fresh and alert. I've got lots of things to do. I was dreaming last night about a new card I would like to make. So, off I go to create something.

Had to share

Just trying to post photos and I thought this card from Lynda L. was a great mixture of paint and layering on a card. Thanks Lynda.

It's Monday

Well the day started out with great plans. I'm still sleeping in too long. So much to do, so little time. Still have to figure out this photo business on here. Way too large. My scanner portion of my HP 3 in 1 printer doesn't work anymore, and now my photo program doesn't like me anymore. Ok...I'm whining. So ok, I'll deal with it...how about Saturday I buy me a new printer and photo software. Now, I'm going to get off here and go do something. I'm in several swaps that need to be completed. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday morning

I'm so new at this blogging bit. I wonder where I will come with ideas to write about. I belong to several on line yahoo groups which I enjoy. The first one is Brush Bunch. I've been on there for over 10 years and have met a great bunch of people that I can call friends. I'm on several stamping/scrapbooking groups too. They are Canadian Scrapbooking Talk, Ontario Rubber Stampers, and LDS Stampers. I love doing the swaps. I've learned so much from these groups about art and it's fun to share tips and experiences.

On the weekend we put all the Christmas decorations away. What a job! Fresh trees drop needles, well fake trees are no better. We had lots of snow for Christmas. I remember wonderful Christmases in Quebec. My uncle had a lovely stone cottage in the Laurentians and we would spend Christmas there. We would go riding in a horse drawn sleigh Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and come back and sit in front of the large open fireplace and drink hot chocolate. Those were the days when snow was piled high and we enjoyed it. We saw beauty in it. As you get older the thrill is gone. Now I stay indoors and watch the snow falling from my warm home.

I want to add pictures to my blog, but I haven't figured out how yet. I can add pictures but they take up the whole screen. How to make them smaller is a question I have the answer to.

My First Day

This is a new year. I haven't made resolutions, but I do plan to set some goals. I have lots of unpainted surfaces that need some creative designs. My favourite to paint is ornaments which I have shared with family and friends over the years. Now that I'm into scrapbooking and rubber stamping, I can share alot of me with you. You will have to bear with me, since I'm not much of a writer. I'm not a 'tell all' kind of person.
Some of my goals are:
Paint one ufo from my stash each month.
Paint 12 ornaments per month.
Do 50 cards per month.
Do 10 scrapbook pages per month.
Read my scriptures everyday.
Write in my journal.
Become a better friend.
Read a good book each month.
